In July 2016, the defendant-a supermarket home delivery driver, called at the home of the victim, Betty in her 80s who lived alone and had severe arthritis and limited mobility.
After unloading the victims shopping into her house, the defendant sexually assaulted the victim, returning later in the day to sexually assault her again. Prior to the attacks the defendant had befriended the victim and made her cups of tea during numerous shopping delivery visits. Following the attacks, the victims became depressed and paranoid and was scared to leave her house.
The defendant also twice sexually assaulted a woman in her 60s in January 2016. The defendant was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault. He was jailed for two years and his name will be on the sex offenders register for ten years.
The defendant was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
